Chick-O-Sticks memories... I am so glad you now
carry chick-o-stick in the large size stick. I ordered some of the
bite size when you had them but they were just not the same. When I
was little, my aunt would come to our house and bring my two cousins.
My mom and dad didn't like to go outside so my aunt would take us to
the community pool every week so that we could go swimming. At the
snack bar they carried the chick-o-stick's for a nickel. I used to eat
one of those during the life guard break every week. I thought they
were the best thing in the world. It was the only day I would have
them because they didn't carry them anywhere else! Thank you so much
for bringing back some great memories! ~ Deborah from Ohio
When I was
small my father was in the navy and he was stationed overseas. My
mother and us kids lived with our grandparents. Every time my father
would come home on leave he would take us all out for a day on the
town. We would go out to eat, go to whatever special event happened to
be going on and then go to the local candy store. Without even asking
me, my father would load a bag with my favorite candy, Chick-O-Sticks.
Back then a lot of folks called
them "chicken legs" and that's exactly what my father would call them.
He would always say that his little Jody had to have a big enough
supply of chicken legs to last him until the next time daddy came
home. I don't know if he just realized how much I loved Chick-O-Sticks
or he liked to watch me eat all the outside (the goodie) before I ate
the inside, all I know is that his smile, as he watched me devour
them, is a memory that is always with me. Thank you for giving me the
opportunity to revisit my childhood again. ~ Jody from Missouri
When I was little I used to travel with my Dad across the Midwest installing phone systems in the
summer. At the little Mom and Pop gas stations, I saw the Chick-O-Stick, which had peanut butter, my favorite food. My Dad did not like me to have chocolate as it melted in the summer, so I ate many many
Chick O Sticks and they are still my favorite candy bars. Whenever I travel outside of the city, I always go to the Mom and Pops to get gas,
and look for a Stick. ~ Patrick from Kansas
