Good and Plenty memories... Back when
I was young it was common for two or three generations of families to
live in the same house. Ours was one of those. My grandma and grandpa
loved to garden and in the summertime we had more fresh produce than our
family and all our neighbors could eat.
I was, of course, a
child and I would rather eat candy than vegetables one candy in
particular. I had a raging passion for Good and Plenty. The only way my
grandma could get me to eat my vegetables was to say "boy-them
vegetables are good and plenty and if you eat them you can have some
Good and Plenty". I worked every time!! To this day I will eat all my
vegetables and think of her and then reach for the Good and Plenty. ~

I was around 6 years old and was never allowed to eat any type of candy. My
grandfather was a dentist and my mom watched me and my sister like hawks. That summer I got to go to sleep-away camp and of course I got my
freedom from my parents and no candy rule. They had a nightly ritual at camp u got to go to the canteen for a snack and soda the first candy I
tried was good and plenty. I was hooked real fast. I became the good and plenty kid. ~ Neil from New York
I remember when I was around 4 years old I begged my dad to get me a big box of good
and plenty. I was so excited that he got it and I ran across the street singing "choo choo good and plenty" "good and plenty" shaking the box
and to my surprise the box came open and all of the good and plenty went all over the street. My dad would not let me pick them up and save
them. I was totally heart broken, but now days I'm still hooked. When I was pregnant with my first child I craved good and plenty and still
do. It's my favorite candy. ~ Dolores from Indiana
