Laffy Taffy memories... I think
one of my favorite memories of childhood was in the afternoons after
school. When I would get home my mother and I would sit at the kitchen
table and talk about my day and then she would say "it's laffy Connie
time". She would then go to the cupboard and get the big jar of laffy
taffy that she kept it in. I always read the joke out loud and I would
roll with laughter. Mom would join in even if she has heard the joke
before. Those were times that cannot ever be revisited again, except
in memories and every time I eat laffy taffy I think of her, say it's
"laffy Connie time" and laugh out loud. ~ Connie from Missouri
I used to get Laffy Taffy after Little League games.
We got coupons after each game for candy at the Snack Shack. One of my
favorite treats to get with my coupon was Laffy Taffy. Even though our
team won only one game throughout the whole season, I loved the chewy
candies.
The jokes were so awful that I could not help but wonder just who
could write something that horrible. My younger brother (who was on
the same team as me) and I loved making fun of their attempts at
humor. ~ Jesse from California
