Cherryheads memories...

It was a family tradition to
drive to Lake Kabetogema in Minnesota for our fishing trip. The
tradition started with my Grandparents was handed down to my Mother
and Father, and will hopefully continue with my siblings and I. The
lodge we stayed at was owned by a friendly family who had a general
store. We didn't pay much attention to the store during the week we
were there. We were too busy with campfires, early morning fishing
trips, and water skiing.
However, the morning of our departure my
father attached the boat to the car with great precision and my siblings and I
would run to the general store to pick out our feast of candy for the 12-hour
drive home. The normal chocolate bars were there, but the Ferrara Pan candy was
always cheaper at 25 cents a box.
My favorites were "Cherry Clan" which is
what Cherryheads were called at that time. I assume it was changed to
Cherryheads because of the offensive Chinese stereotype logo the box adorned,
however to this day I still think of them as Cherry Clan and they always remind
me of the great times I've had with my family at Lake Kabetogema. ~ Patrick from
Illinois
I remember when I first took a bite into
a CherryHead. They were so good and full of flavor! I was instantly captivated
by the taste, and became a true CherryHead lover. My mother hated for me to eat
sweets of any sort. My Grandfather, however, would always buy me a box of
CherryHeads when I came to visit him. So, as you can imagine, I always jumped at
the opportunity to visit. For this reason, I believe CherryHead truely improved
our bonding throughout my life. ~ Elliot from Florida
