Marathon Bar memories...

I
am a child of the 70's, so it is only appropriate that I am a radio
personality for an Oldies station. I grew up spending my allowance on the
Marathon bar. I loved how it lasted so long and would put it in the freezer
to break it off into pieces for a cool treat in the summer.
One
day I was watching the Food Network and they had a program about candy and
the Marathon bar was featured. So, I went online and searched under
"what happened to the Marathon Bar?" I found the Old Time Candy
Company and got in touch with Donny Ray. Now, the Old Time Candy Company is
providing our radio station with delicious candy as a prize for one of our
contests.
The
listeners love the candy and website - it truly brings back a lot of
memories for us all - whether you are a child of the 50's, 60's or 70's. By
the way - Donny recommended the Curly Wurly bar by Cadbury as a substitute
and it is the perfect replacement. I still miss the red wrapper complete
with the ruler to show that the Marathon Bar is the KING of big candy!!

to the Curly Wurly Page Testimonial... Fabulous! That's the only word to describe it. I ordered the Danish Ribbons, Red Hot Dollars and Curly Wurly. It brought back such memories of the Marathon
candy bar I used to love as a kid. I used to eat Danish Ribbons by the handful and they are exactly as I remember them. Your company delivered them in just a couple of days and I couldn't wait to dig in. Thank you for helping keep a childhood tradition alive and for courteous and prompt service. Thanks again! Barbara |
