Now and Laters memories...

I
grew up with now and laters and when I can find them. I still eat them
today, My kids also love them... I remember as a kid I would take them
everywhere I went, to school, beach, park or when I had a sleepover. I
would have a huge bowl of them, sitting on my bed as my friends and I
had fun playing games. At birthday parties I would put a few In
balloons and hung them from trees and people had to pop the balloons
to get to them. Back then I could walk in to any store and pick up a
hand full but now I can't. Those were the good ole days!!!!! I just
wish I could find them as easy as I could back then. Kayle from

About a year ago, I started working in the Marketing Department of a major TV station in Hartford, CT. I was new and I didn't know anyone, so I started a little tradition. One day, I put a bowl of candy on my desk - and the flow of people coming into my office hasn't stopped yet! Even the personalities, when taking a community group on a tour, make a stop in
my office for a treat!
After a while, it's become apparent that some people have clear favorites and I even get requests. The absolute hands-down winner is Now and
Laters!! It's been so difficult to find them around here. I've been all over and the only place I can find them is in a big mixed bag with a bunch of other candy! After the backlash I got this AM from running out of everyone's favorite Now and
Laters, I decided that I had to find a great place online to be my supplier, and I found you! Thank you so much for your Now and
Laters!! And thank you from all the employees here! ~ Stephanie from Connecticut.
The candy I remember the most was the Now & Later. When I was
in the 7th grade at Allen Junior High in Austin, Texas I use to get dropped off
at school a little early every morning and so I would go to the only store in
our neighborhood at that time, that sold orange Now & Laters. I would go and try
and get back to school on time. By the way we were not suppose to LEAVE campus.
One time I went to the store which was
about 4 blocks way when I saw my father driving by and I had to run in a creek
to hide. No he never saw me but that was really close. You think all that for a
.21 cent with tax package of candy. The store was Govalle Drug store and it is
still in business. Thanks for giving me the chance to tell this story that
happened so long ago. ~ Shirley from Texas
I remember when I was about 7 years old and my
father bought me a pack of Now and Laters. I loved that candy, but my mother told me not to eat any because it would pull out my teeth. Well I didn't
listen to her and sure enough, the taffy pulled out my tooth. It was loose and ready to come out so the candy just helped it along. Every time I think
of this candy I also think of my loose tooth. ~ Sandra from New York
I am a 41 year old woman
who had a love affair with candy when I was a child. I am now a Physical Ed teacher and I was lecturing on nutrition (can you believe that?) the other
day. Every time I talk about candy I always go back to Now and Laters. I tell the kids that they haven't had the best until they've had the flavors
that we had as kids. My favorite of all of the Now and Later flavors was VANILLA! I remember being in the third grade. My desk was always a mess.
One day I decided to clean it out and what do you think that I found all the way in the back of the desk? A
vanilla Now and Later! It was still wrapped, like brand new. You would have thought that I had found a million dollars! I would never wait until I had
finished one before I would put another one in my mouth. Yummy! I get excited just thinking about it. I liked
when they were hard at first. I would spend all of my lunch money buying Now and Laters. Believe me, I would get in so much trouble that my father
starting taking away my lunch money. He would give me just enough to by juice, which was 10 cents back then. But guess what, that was enough for Now
and Laters! When they had vanilla, that was even better! When I think back on my Elementary School Days, Now and Laters take me right back. My
favorite was vanilla, then chocolate, and of course the classic grape. As a matter of fact, I think that the only grape candy that I liked was the
grape Now and Later. Where has the vanilla Now and Later gone? Can you please bring these flavors back? I think I'm gonna cry. ~ Sherry from
Pennsylvania
My name is Melissa and I am utterly in love with Now and Laters. I am only fourteen years of age, so I don't
have a childhood memory from so long ago. BUT!! I have always remembered my first taste of a Now and Later. I was 5; it was warm outside, summer time.
The breeze was blowing against my face, and I was desperate for a fruity refreshment. Unfortunately the only sweet candy we had was chocolate which I
pretty much despise.
I asked politely to go to the store with my mother and she agreed. While we were there I searched the candy racks for goodies but none of the regular
candies suited my likings. SO! I'm trotting along and there they were - my first pack of Now and Laters. From that day on I have had insane cravings
for Now and Laters every day! ~ Melissa from California
