Ring Pops memories...

Ring Pops

When I was a little girl, I would play various kinds of dress up games, most of which involved being a princess or a housewife. I had all different sorts of props and clothes, but one prop I had no matter what game I was playing was a Ring Pop or two on my fingers. Whenever my mother took me to the grocery store or Walgreens, I would beg her to buy me Ring Pops, and she always obliged.

So I would prance around like a princess or a housewife waving my candy-garnished hands while periodically bringing them to my mouth to get a little sugar. Once the ring was small enough, I would bite into it and all that would be left was a plastic ring with a small plastic rod jutting from the top where the candy used to be. At that point, it was time to change the game and pretend the ring was a magical key. ~ Margaret from Wisconsin
