Saf-T-Pops candy bar memories...

As a kid I always loved going to the bank with my
dad, as the teller would give me a saf-t-pop. I looked forward to that
every Friday. Now that my godson is old enough to hold things in his
hands, the first thing I looked for was a saf-t-pop. He loved them...
his face was so sticky. We laughed and laughed. ~ Jimmy from Colorado
My grandfather owned a wholesale business located on a railroad siding. The building was dark and musty and we
only went there right before Halloween each year. My dad would take my sister and I to get a box of Saf-T-Pops to give out to the trick-or-treaters
that came to our house.
We of course loved going along because we got to run around the old warehouse, and out on the little removable
plank bridge that went over the rails to the storage building on the other side. Of course the highlight was getting our own suckers at the end of the
errand. ~ Matt from Louisiana
I distinctly remember one Sunday
afternoon with my old brothers. We walked the whole two miles to the store and
bought a whole bag full of Saf-T Pops. But while we where watching we decided to
eat them like 'men' which apparently meant that we should bite off the lolly pop
part and eat it like a candy bar. So in a matter of minutes we went through the
entire bag. I was so glad to find these on your site, even simple things can
spur great memories! ~ Carl from New York
