Popcorn Balls memories... I grew
up in Cleveland Ohio and our favorite place was to go to Euclid Beach
Park, a park before the Six Flags era. Your treat was to ride the Flying
Curves and for a snack to have these enormous popcorn balls. They have a
taste like you have never had. Light and unique. Nothing better then
Humphrey's popcorn balls. A pleasure to get them again. ~ Karen from
Georgia
When I was in 8th grade, and my sisters were in
6th and 4th grade, we went to the local hospital to have our tonsils
removed over the '68 Christmas holiday. After the operation we were very
cranky and didn't even want the lime jell-o for lunch or the orange
sherbet for dessert.
There was a little girl in our ward who also had
her tonsils out the day before we did. She made us very jealous because
she could already eat the popcorn ball from her Christmas stocking. I
forced myself to eat mine right away, because it was the best treat in
the stocking. ~ Tess from Montana
I remember those Humphrey Popcorn
balls at Euclid Beach Park in Cleveland, Ohio in the 50's and 60's! We
always bought some and then bought a ticket and rode "the bug" - one of
my favorite rides. Sometimes we would go back and buy some extra popcorn
balls to munch on the way home on the bus!!!!
I remember I almost lost one of
those treasured popcorn balls in the water on the "over the falls"
ride!! Euclid Beach was a wonderful old time amusement park and our
parents never worried when we went there! How times have changed!! ~
